Hi I’m Todd
My career at sea started in 2003. I’d just completed a four-year degree in business management and
decided it would be a great idea to work on a cruise ship. This would allow me to travel and pay my
student loans. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I was born and raised in a small fishing village in Nova Scotia, Canada. My love for the sea started at
a very early age. I spent three years working on some of the biggest cruise ships in the world at that
time. We cruised the Mediterranean, Baltic, Caribbean, South America, Mexico, West Coast USA and
Alaska. I made the transition into yachting in 2006. I knew quite early on that I had finally found a
working environment that I was passionate about. I spent the next seven years learning as much as I
could and making my way up the ranks from deckhand to captain. I’ve worked with so many great
crew members and captain’s who have helped me throughout my career.
I took my first command in 2013 and have had the pleasure of running reputable charter programs
with world cruising itineraries. To this day I’m still a captain with that same passion for the industry.
I’m very excited to be part of the YOA team. I have first-hand experience with sourcing crew from
YOA and they’ve certainly left a positive impression on me. I look forward to providing the same
positive experience with my fifteen plus years of experience at every level of this wonderful industry
we call yachting.
